Acolysis Ultrasound Thrombolysis System
The Acolysis ultrasound thrombolysis system* is a new approach to the challenging problem of treating arterial disease through the intra-arterial application of low-frequency, high-energy ultrasound.
The system is designed to deliver ultrasound energy through an intravascular probe to treat and de-bulk arterial lesions. Its first clinical application is in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, where long occlusive lesions are common and difficult to treat using conventional angioplasty techniques. The Acolysis product is currently sold in international markets and is in clinical planning stages in the United States.
